My little one hurries home from school and says 'Amma, I'm hungry', her eyes drooping and tummy rumbling. I'm racing against time before she starts yelling. I quickly rush to my kitchen and grab ingredients in an attempt to make something healthy and delicious to stop the threatening sounds from that belly.
This ended up being a regular guilt-free at home for everyone to satisfy those noisy tummies.

- boil a little water enough to melt the jaggery. Strain this into the mixing bowl. Note it should not be too runny.
- Add the grated apple and blend it all together with a wooden spoon.
- If you want extra crunch, fold in the chopped nuts or chocolate chips. Do not overload the batter.
- Heat a Paniyaram pan, coat each pocket with butter or ghee on low-medium flame.
- Pour the batter in each pocket. Cover with a lid for about 4-5 minutes.
- Turn each dumpling over and cook on open flame for about 3-4 minutes.
- Do be careful not to burn the dumplings.
- You can serve the hot choco apple dumplings with garnish like freshly whipped cream, rose petals and chocolate sauce.
