Kaaikari Bread Bonda - Veggie Bread Bonda

What is round and irresistible? I meant apart from football? :) Yes! These delicious bread bondas a fantastic treat for the football season. Enjoy and relish with your family and friends! 


BREAD BONDA
















Ingredients:
  • 1 cup carrot finely chopped
  • 1 cup cabbage finely chopped 
  • 1 cup beans finely chopped
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup of chopped coriander
  • 6 - 7 slices of bread
  • 3 cups of Water
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil

Method:
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan. Fry the onions till golden brown.
  • Pop in the rest of the vegetables and saute till they cook. Add a little water to ensure the vegetables cook together to a soft consistency.
  • Sprinkle the garam masala, salt and coriander. Mix well. Keep aside to cool.
  • Heat oil in a deep fry pan. In the meantime get your bread bonda balls ready.
  • Take a wide deep dish, pour in the water. 
  • Dip a single slice of bread on both sides and squeeze the excess water gently.
  • Place the slice on your palm. scoop out a tablespoon of vegetable filling place it at the centre of the slice.
  • Fold your palm to make the slice cover the filling to form a ball. Take your time and do it gently.
  • Once you get the hang of it you'll get better at it.
  • Now drop the ball gently into the oil to deep fry until golden brown. 
  • Serve it hot with ketchup or green chutney.
