Simple Thengai Laddu - Coconut Laddu

For all those who have a sweet tooth and don't know what to do with coconuts offered at weddings or after you are done with prayer offerings. An easy and a smart way to make a scrumptious preparation. 

THENGAI LADDU - COCONUT LADDU















Ingredients:

  • 2 cups grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • food colour - optional

Method:

  • Mix the grated coconut and sugar in a bowl for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Heat the pan on medium flame and then add the mixture of coconut and sugar for 10 minutes stirring continuously.
  • Add the milk and stir continuously. The milk will condense.
  • Now add ghee and mix well. Stir until there is no trace of any liquid but just tad bit sticky to make into small laddus. 
  • If you like add small pieces of cashew nuts before you make the balls.
Caution:
  • Make the balls when the mixture is still warm.
