Thaaliccha maangai - Sweet and Spicy Tempered Mangoes

Nothing like Salty, Sweet, Spicy and crunchy mangoes to go with your porridge bowl or the humble curd rice or even beat that boredom. Any one who comes home will always find this on our dining table everyday of Summer.



Ingredients:
  • 1 Raw mango sliced length wise (Kilimooku/ thothapuri)
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds
  • /4 tsp of asafoetida

Method:
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Pop the mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
  2. Switch off the stove and add the asafoetida
  3. Toss in the mangoes and season with salt, chilli powder and coriander powder. Mix well.
  4. Serve it up and eat it all!
