Kondai Kadalai Sundal - Chana Dal Sprouts

Sundal is often prepared during festivals as an offering. No wonder it is the food of the Gods, filled with pure aroma and goodness of nutrients.

If you are a vegetarian and looking for protein rich recipe. This is a must try. It is even more enriching when you use sprouts. This makes a perfect snack or a side dish. I'm sure kids will love it too.


SUNDAL















Ingredients:

1 cup Kondai Kadalai (Soaked overnight)/ 1 cup of sprouts
1 cup of water
4 - 5 curry leaves
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp freshly grated coconut
1 - 2 green chillis
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander
1 tbsp Oil
Salt as needed

Method:

Boil the kondai kadalai with some salt in the pressure cooker. It normally takes about 4 - 5 whistles to cook evenly.
Allow it to cool and then drain excess water. Do not dispose this as this can be used to make delicious protein rich rasam.
Now heat oil in a pan andd add mustard seeds. After it splutters, toss in the curry leaves and chillis.
Add the kondai kadalai and saute for a few mins till it coats with little oil.
Taste test it. Add salt if required and mix well. 
Toss in the grated coconut and coriander and stir in it very gently.
Suda Suda Sundal Ready! Enjoy with a cup of Masala Tea...
